second-annual CMTF

New York City

The Children's Musical Theater Festival is 10-day performance based theater program. Students cast in the Festival will have the opportunity to originate roles in new musical works by up-and-coming theater writers. Students are split into two groups based on age and each group does two performances of their show Off –Broadway at The Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York City.

Audition Information

CMTF will hold multiple days of live auditions in Manhattan. Each child need only audition once. There is no fee to audition.

WHAT TO PREPARE:

  1. Bring sheet music in the correct key to any Broadway/musical Theatre song. Please select 16-32 bars of music you would like to focus on. Accompanist will be provided.
  2. Please bring current photo (Snapshots are fine).

Broadway Workshop will be handling the auditions for this event. To sign up for an audition appointment, click here. CMTF Auditions will be part of Broadway Workshop's combined auditions.

Audition Via DVD

If you cannot attend one of our live auditions, you can send us a DVD. On your video submission, please include the following:

  1. Tell us your name, age and what song you are performing.
  2. Perform a short musical theatre song (no more than 3 minutes) that shows off your personality and vocal ability.
  3. You may sing a cappella, with a musical track or with live piano accompaniment. Please do not accompany yourself.
  4. Mark your full name on the DVD.
  5. Download and fill out the audition form.
  6. Mail the form and DVD by March 1, 2012 to (no emails accepted)
